rolled over, my arms feeling numb as I lifted myself from the hard ground. I wasn’t really sure where I had ended up. I knew I was still in the Kingdom, I'd made sure I wouldn’t appear outside the Kingdom, but I was no where familiar. I was at the edge of a small pond; behind me were a few trees, already changing color for the fall.
"Odd." I whispered; it was after all only midsummer.  I could see a small bridge in the distance leading to another small piece of land with a single bright orange tree. My mouth dropped when I realized what I was looking at. The land mass was floating, connected by the bridge. The chunk of land next to me carried a tall tower, a crystal floating on one end of it, and rusty mechanisms on the
other. A spiral stair case on the outer wall led to the top somewhere on the other side.
"Magic." I hissed. I walked over to the edge of the cliffs; looking down, I found a vast ocean, waves rolled into the distance and I could see nothing else. Not a single ship or stretch of land, just me and what looked like a large squid sinking into the deep. I couldn’t have been more trapped, or more lost.
"Plankrun, I sure hope you know what you're doing"
I stood at the bridge nervously. I was never a fan of heights and my head spun as I looked down. Nothing but air and a hundred foot drop into the unforgiving waters below. I stepped onto the wooden bridge; it swayed slightly in the breeze. I shut my eyes and took another step, breathing deeply as I did so. One inch at a time, one step at a time, I crossed. A thousand years passed it seemed, time that was no longer important, just me and an old bridge. My heart was racing, thumping violently in my chest, the bridge creaked threateningly.
When at last my feet hit solid ground, I breathed properly again. Reality washed over me in waves and I looked back to the other side. The pond rippled lightly, and the breeze kissed the grasses. I shivered. Bunking down under the beautiful, orange tree I tried to sleep. I set my trap to the side placing Brie on the base, then fell asleep almost instantly.
