========================================================================
I awoke with a start; I heard tiny paws running around my tent. I sat in silence as they ran off. When all was calm outside the tent I went to check my things. The bag of cheddar lay open at the front of the tent. I grumbled at my own stupidity, as I sat there counting out the bait, it occurred to me that they didn’t steal much of my supply. Perhaps they weren't all that smart. I only found two pieces of missing cheddar.
After packing away my supplies properly and placing it inside the tent, I went to check my trap. A grin ripped across my face as I saw a little grey creature lying there in stunned death. Though it managed to enjoy its last
meal, I snagged him in the end.
I cleaned the trap and removed the mouse for examination. It was shaped unlike any mouse I had ever seen before. Though it had all the normal mouse like qualities, its body was somewhat more elongated. I weighed the mouse before I dug a hole and buried the enemy, rebaiting my trap before I left.
"Meadow-I checked my trap and was successful in the hunt I caught a 3 oz. Grey Mouse!"
Excited for my first catch I had decided to check my traps every hour.

The next few days passed by in a blur of little sleep and images of cheese. I had encountered many more mice since the first. I soon learned that there were stronger and weaker mice. The Grey mice were easy to catch, I rarely missed. I discovered that they were human like. They walked upright and I knew they had to have conscious thought. They stored bait on them, I encountered a few that even dropped some marble cheese, which I found more effective as bait than the cheddar was. I encountered white mice, brown mice, and grey mice. Those I expected, it was the other mice that crept up that I was unprepared for.
On my third night in the meadow, upon viewing my midnight trap check, I found I'd caught a mouse much like a dwarf, it even held a little axe in its stiff paw.
"Dear king, the mice are armed even. This is unlike anything I had expected. I am enclosing pictures of the new mice I encounter. Please prepare the Town. "
There were even mice that looked as if they were made of gold, and some that looked like diamonds in the night. As well as a mouse made of pure steel. Whatever was going on, I knew we weren't prepared. My bait was dwindling and I wasn’t getting many loot drops. If I wanted to continue the Hunt I would have to return to the Town and report my findings. I only wondered if anyone would believe me.
